About me

Majka is a senior corporate lawyer specializing in M&A and private equity matters. She has advised clients on both private and public M&A transactions, joint ventures, equity investments, and corporate reorganizations. Additionally, she is an entrepreneur active on the startup scene and originator of the idea of WOM&AN, as well as the driving force behind WOM&AN.

Background

Majka held associate positions at leading international law firms in Warsaw and completed several internships at top-tier law firms in both Warsaw and London, including Skadden and Kirkland & Ellis. She also worked as an investment banking analyst at Citigroup and PKO BP Securities.
Majka completed a PhD in corporate governance. While working on her PhD, she was a visiting researcher at Georgetown University and the Max Planck Institute. She graduated from the Warsaw School of Economics, earning a Master’s degree in Finance & Accounting and a postgraduate diploma in Business Valuations. She also earned a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Warsaw and completed the Center for American Law Studies’ collaborative program at the University of Warsaw and the University of Florida.

About me

Anna Maria has over 12 years of experience in investment banking. She currently holds the position of Director in the Strategy & Transactions department at EY, where she focuses on Mergers & Acquisitions. Anna Maria has led numerous M&A transactions, both local and cross-border, providing guidance to entrepreneurs, corporations, and financial investors. She also has experience in advisory projects related to fundraising processes and infrastructure projects for both the commercial and public sectors. In her personal life as well as at work, she subscribes to the core values of AUTHENTICITY, TRUST, COMMITMENT, and BEING CONNECTED.

Hobbies

Anna Maria plays the piano and is an avid traveler, with a special place in her heart devoted to Italy in general and Rome in particular. As her professional responsibilities increased, Anna began cultivating the practice of meditation, which has significantly shaped her identity and her vision for the future. She empowers female dealmakers and shares her experiences within the WOM&AN association.

About me

Joanna has 15 years of investment banking experience. She currently leads the M&A department at Play (iliad Group). At various points in her career to date, Joanna has played a key role in several landmark TMT transactions in the Polish market, contributing experience in various aspects, including transaction structuring, negotiation, integration planning, valuation, and cultivation of deal value creation aspects. Before joining Play, she worked for Trigon, advising on M&A, IPOs, and refinancing projects tailored to serve the unique needs of HNWIs, family companies and funds. She actively supports companies as a supervisory board member.

Joanna graduated from Warsaw School of Economics where she completed PhD Studies in Economics. She holds Master’s degrees in both Quantitative Methods in Economy and Information Systems and Finance & Banking.

She is co-author of publications concerning the valuation of flexibility in investment projects.

Hobbies

Joanna enjoys traveling and instrumental music. In her free time, she works on designing a cosmetics brand for kids. She is a mother of two children. Joanna empowers women by sharing her experience within the WOM&AN association, from both an investment banking and business perspective.

About me

Monika is a Partner responsible for Investor Relations, Communication, and ESG at Abris Capital Partners. She brings 25 years of international C-suite experience in finance, private equity, banking, investor relations, management, strategy, and development. At Abris, Monika is a member of the Abris Partners’ Board and the Investment Committee, and chairs the Corporate Governance Committee. She contributed materially to developing and implementing Abris’ ESG strategy, which focuses on managing portfolio risks and creating shareholder value.

Background

Before joining Abris, Monika was active as a non-executive director, serving on multiple supervisory boards of large companies and publicly listed corporations. Previous private equity experience includes Innova Capital, where she supervised both Portfolio Management & Fund Operations, and Enterprise Investors, where she was in charge of Investor Relations. Monika served as a Management Board member of Bank BGŻ (currently BNP Paribas), responsible for strategy and development, and supervised the strategic excellence hub in Agriculture. Earlier, she held the position of CFO at the pharmaceutical company Sanofi-Synthélabo and was a senior auditor at both Salustro Reydel (France) and Arthur Andersen (Poland).
Monika holds a Master’s degree from the Warsaw School of Economics and post-graduate diplomas in Social Psychology and Agriculture. She has previously chaired the Corporate Governance Committee and was a member of the Management Board at the Polish Association of Private Equity. She is a long-term mentor for various business executives and NGO organizations.

In her personal life, Monika is a passionate sailor, gardener, and promotor of sustainable food production. She enjoys creating new tastes and experimenting with neurogastronomy.

Magdalena has a 15-year track record in the insurance industry. She is a dedicated professional transaction insurance broker, currently working for WTW as the Head of M&A. With a passion for the world of M&A insurance and a commitment to excellence, she is on a mission to make a positive impact in this field.
Over the years, she has honed her skills and expertise in various aspects of the insurance sector. Throughout her career, she has had the privilege of working with reputable insurance and brokerage organizations and teams. Her past roles included Regional Sales Manager at Allianz Trade Poland, and Strategic Client Director and M&A Leader at Aon, where she built up the local M&A insurance business from scratch. In her current role as Head of M&A at WTW, she has contributed to many M&A projects in Poland and CEE, advising clients on the insurance perspectives in their transaction lifecycles and showcasing her commitment to delivering results and driving financial success for her clients in M&A processes.

Ewa is a Sales Director and represents Datasite in Poland.
She supports the biggest M&A transactions in the region and believes that being a market connector is one of the greatest values that contributes to building a business and personal brand.

Background

A lawyer by education, Ewa has specialized in sales and business development for 12 years, working with major players across multiple industries in CEE. Her career to date has included stints in financial services, consulting, and technology. Ewa brought Datasite to Poland in 2021 and, in no time, established Datasite as the preferred M&A technology provider in the local M&A market.
Ewa has a strong track record in sales, account management, and relationship building, with experience in developing strategies, managing portfolios, and contributing to the growth and success of the organizations she works with. Her involvement in promoting women in the M&A industry also reflects her commitment to diversity and empowerment within her professional network.

Urszula has 15 years of experience in investment banking. She leads an M&A team specializing in transactions in the renewable energy segment, infrastructure, and real estate. Prior to joining Santander, she honed her professional experience working at Bastion Group and Hexagon Capital Advisors, where she participated in multiple M&A transactions, mostly on the sell-side.

About me

Barbara is a senior lawyer with 16 years of experience. She currently leads the Corporate Governance & M&A team within the Legal Department at P4 sp. z o.o. in Warsaw (Play), a Polish telecommunications operator, which is part of the Iliad Group. Since 2009, she has been advising Play on all corporate and financing matters, as well as M&A transactions. Her legal expertise encompasses corporate law, commercial law, corporate finance, and project finance. Barbara has closely collaborated with Play’s boards and senior management in pivotal transactions, including IPOs, financing projects, debt instrument issuances (both public and non-public), share and asset deals, mergers, carve-outs, transformations, and integrations.

Barbara is an attorney-at-law listed in the Warsaw Bar Association. She holds degrees in law and international relations from Warmian-Mazurian University and Wrocław University. Additionally, she is a Certified Lean Green Belt practitioner and AML Officer.

Małgorzata Badowska brings extensive expertise in serving corporate entities, specializing primarily in transaction financing, including mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, and investment projects, as well as debt refinancing. She excels in transactions related to acquisition finance and offers comprehensive support to entrepreneurs, particularly in the legal aspects of corporate financing, encompassing credit agreements and terms of bond issuances in private placements.

Małgorzata holds a wealth of experience in the legal and financial realms, making her a respected expert in the field. She is a partner at GESSEL, overseeing the firm’s Banking & Finance practice as well as contributing to M&A transactions in the private market, working closely with private equity and venture capital funds, and regularly lecturing in the areas of her specialization.

Dorota has over 15 years of professional, managerial and leadership experience in finance, management reporting, and regulatory reporting. Currently Dorota serves as Deputy CFO at Abris Capital Partners. Her primary focus areas include investment valuation, fund reporting, enhancement, and automation of processes.

Prior to joining Abris, Dorota held numerous positions across functions working in Luxembourg, Cyprus and Singapore. She successfully built and led the finance team supporting Blackstone Real Estate Asia portfolio companies. Her role included overseeing financial reporting, finance operations, and leading business process transformation. Earlier, she held various finance positions at Intertrust, where she managed, developed, and monitored the corporate finance teams, servicing a portfolio of international clients active in private equity and real estate.

Dorota graduated with Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Poznań University of Economics.
